Consultancy

I offer consultancy to Autistic people and families, as well as to professionals and organisations who want to create more inclusive environments. Consultations may benefit adults who want the opportunity to discuss their Autistic experiences or for families that are seeking support or information.

With professionals and organisations, this can involve us collaborating to make their environments more accessible for Autistic people. There may be ideas from my co-authored book, Creating Safe Spaces for Autistic People, that could be considered useful for this.

Some aspects of my consultancy can involve:

  • Providing information around various topics (sensory needs, communication, masking, burnout)
  • Discussing potential approaches for aspects such as sensory needs, transitions and burnout
  • Collaborating with individuals, families or professionals to determine adjustments and accommodations that could help in services such as education or the workplace
  • Signposting to reliable professionals or organisations for situations that I cannot offer any support with (therapy, legal advice, medication, healthcare, other neurodivergences)
  • Writing support letters for individuals and/or their family

Feedback on my Consultancy:

“Scott closely collaborates with my husband and I to ensure the best outcomes for our son. The PDA language he has equipped us with has been a massive tool in communicating and building stronger bonds with our son. Scott has attended several multi agency meetings with us to help advocate for our son and will continue to do so.”

“Scott was like a breath of fresh air when we met. I felt alone and defeated by the people who were supposed to be helping us. As a family we were broken and Scott actually took time to sit and listen to us and saw how lost we were and assured us he would do everything he could to help us. He helped me with emails, support letters, attended school meetings, listened and gave me advice and guidance.”
