Feedback from My Training

My training is aligned with the neurodiversity paradigm and features insights from the Autistic community, as well as my own personal and professional knowledge. I offer bespoke autism (and neurodivergence) training to schools, nurseries and organisations. These sessions often range from 1 to 3 hours.

For schools, I am available for in-service day training. Alternatively, some schools request me to deliver 90 minute sessions at their monthly staff meetings as part of their CPD. Additionally, I am open to presenting at conferences or other events run by organisations.

Furthermore, I can deliver 1:1 training to professionals or families who are not able to access group sessions or whose organisations are unable to book me. This provides the opportunity for us to have discussions as I go through the slides, either as a handout in person, or whilst screen sharing online.

I also deliver Cothú, a Train the Trainer course (developed by AUsome Training) for anyone who supports parents of Autistic children. You can find dates for my next delivery of this course here.

There are a variety of topics I deliver sessions on, some of which are listed below.

Autistics & Anxiety

Sensory Needs

Energy Levels

Creating Safety

Autistic Play

Building Transitions

Autistic Wellbeing

PDA (co-delivered)

Autistic Burnout

Supporting Autistics in Distress

Autistic Communication

Nurturing Autistic Identity

One of the main sessions I deliver is titled ‘Understanding Autistic Experience’ which runs for 2.5 – 3 hours. This can be an introduction session for those who want to gain a deeper insight into the ways that Autistic people experience the world and how to support them. Additionally, I offer a light information session that covers Autistic experiences (communication, play, sensory needs) within 1 to 2 hours. My sessions can be delivered online or in-person (if the travel distance is reasonable).

I also deliver sessions in collaboration with other professionals (such as Laura Hellfeld & Hayley Moroke) on topics around Same Food and PDA.

My Training is designed on the following principles:

  • Referencing current research, including Autistic-led research and theories
  • Exploring how we can help Autistic and otherwise Neurodivergent people to thrive authentically
  • Being informed by the ways that trauma can express for Autistic people and how to support them through this
  • Offering practical support strategies, such as adapting environments, creating safety and reducing anxiety
  • Sharing insight into Autistic and Neurodivergent experiences, featuring my own personal insight, as well as that of the wider community
  • To promote people in the community who are further marginalised such as black and ethnic minority groups, Autistics who are part of the LGBTQ+ community and non-speakers

I am open to requests for training and you can leave a message on the contact page if you are interested in this.

Note: I am not a mental health or healthcare professional and cannot offer therapy or advice on medication.
